Stainless Steel Wire

We specialize in providing small diameter wire, custom cut-to-length, deburr, and ultrasonic cleaning of specified lengths with a length tolerance of +/-0.005”.  We can hold tighter tolerances upon request.  All of our miniature stainless steel wire products is spring tempered, with a bright finish.

Note: Citric passivation is available upon request.

304/304L Stainless Steel Wire

304 stainless steel wire is spring tempered and diamond drawn to a highly polished appearance.  The austentic stainless steel is initially electric-arc melted, then as a refinement to the purity and homogenity of the metal, it is vacuum arc re-melted.  This process yields a more uniform chemistry with minimal voids and contamination. It is most popular for medical applications and it is used for dental wire, stylets, guide wires, catheter wires, and as clean-out rods for hypodermic tubing.

316L Stainless Steel Wire

316L stainless steel wire has many of the same attributes as 304/304L stainless steel wire, but its corrosion resistance is much higher due to the addition of molybdenum.  It is particularly useful when working with phosphoric and acetic acids.
